“The sensation of creating is a dynamic and exciting process. For me, it is a process of self-exploration and giving of my inner self to others. It’s about being vulnerable and accepting at the same time and letting my soul direct me and my creation. It’s about being one with the moment and letting that creative force take over. It is also about me letting others see what I have done and enjoying the vicarious experience of their experience of my work. I love to make people think, and I love to make people feel through my art. Painting has no words, similar to instrumental music, yet it can move us so deeply and touch our souls. Being a visual artist I aim to connect my audience to that inner self that we each have. Art has the power to bridge the gaps between us and connect each of us to our individual and shared humanity.”

Marilyn’s paintings are a modern expression of light and are impressionistic in nature. Her use of color, shape, and movement is unique in how it translates hope which taps into our consciousness. Marilyn is at her core a storyteller who uses light, color, and spirituality as her mode of communication. Her optimism, which flows from her art is experienced and contagious. Marilyn’s artistic inspiration comes from the pillars of the impressionist movement: Monet, Manet, Renoir, Pissaro, Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Cassatt. Her love of abstract and modern art is inspired by: Klimt, Mondrian, Chagall, and Pollack.
